For the last few years, John has taught and performed at some of Ireland's finest venues, summer schools, and festivals. He is a regular teacher and performer at the Willie Clancy summer school, Miltown Malbay Co Clare. He has taught and performed also in Ceolaras Coleman, Co Sligo, Celtic fusion, Keadue Co Roscommon, Seamus Ennis School and festival, Co Dublin, and the "Beo" festival at the National concert hall among others. He also completed a Music Network "Best of Irish" tour in 2002 with John Carty, Alan Kelly, and Aileen O'Connor, playing in beautiful venues including The Coach House, Dublin Castle, An Grianán Theater, Letterkenny, Birr Theater and Arts Center, and St John's Heritage and Arts Center, Listowel, Co Kerry.

Best of Irish tour 2002

In the last year John has added a new string to his bow by becoming a festival organiser! The first annual "Feile Frank McGann" festival was a good success thanks to the hard work put in by john and a dedicated committee.

For this coming year John will continue to play and teach locally, nationally, and internationally. He is presently in rehearsals with a group of performers from the region, to put together a varied stage show of music, song, dance, and story.

Finally for now, another potentially new and exciting project that John will be involved in as a player and co-producer, is a CD recording of county Roscommon Flute players. A number of well known and outstanding flute players have committed to the recording, which will hopefully be released later in the year.
